Getting Started - Control Panel

The Favorites control panel area allows you view lists of entries and members added to favorites, administrate collections, adjust preferences and install the demo templates.

Statistics

The Favorites landing page provides an immediate and comprehensive overview of activity on your site. Adjust the timeframe however you need to identify trends, pinpoint popular entries and see who the power users are on your site. The fully customizable date filter applies to all sections.

The Overview section provides a summary of favorite counts for Entries, Members and Files over time. It breaks down the popularity of the different types of favorited content and gives you an overall 'Top 10' for the specified timeframe, with links to drill down further on your most popular content.

The User overview shifts the focus from content to the members who are powering the popularity of your site content. Track how many user participation over time, how many users have favorited at least one item and how those interactions are distributed across types, and easily identify the most active users on the site.

Favorites also breaks down the analysis of the different types of favorites with detailed information on total favorites and type specific 'Top 10'.

Favorited Entries

The Favorited Entries page displays a list of all entries that have been favorited. The table includes the entry author, collection and total counts of favorites for in that collection (Total) and across all collections (Raw Total). You can then click on an entry and view all users that have favorited the entry.

Favorited Members

The Favorited Members page displays a list of all members that have been favorited, with the collection, total favorite count in that collection (Total) and the count across all collections (Raw Total). Click on a member name to access the detail page, with a list of all users that have favorited the member.

Favorited Files

The Favorited Files page displays a list of all files that have been favorited, with the collection, total favorite count in that collection (Total) and the count across all collections (Raw Total). Click on a file name to access the detail page, with a list of all users that have favorited the member.

Active Users

This page will display a list of all users that have favorited items. You can then click on a user and view all items that have been favorited by that user.

Collections

Entries, members and files each have their own Collection listing page, that display all collections for that type of content. You can view total counts of favorites by collection, and click the collection to go to a filtered view of the items in that collection. Collections can be manually added or deleted from the collection listing pages as well.

Albums

Albums are unique to Files and operate differently than collections. While collections are shared by groups, an album is owned by a single user and contains only content that user has added. The Album list page displays all albums, their creator, the number of files in the album, and whether the album is public or private.

Clicking on the album name takes you to a detail view page, with information about the album owner and a listing of all files in that album. From there, click on a file and return to a filtered listing view that shows all of the albums a given file has been added to.

Demo Templates

If you wish to load the demo templates for Favorites, go to this page. Then just create a prefix name for the sample data such as test_ or favorites_, and click the Install Demo Templates button.
