Upgrading from Zoo VisitorΒΆ

  1. Upgrade ExpressionEngine to 2.11.9
  2. Upgrade Zoo Visitor to the last 1.x version (1.3.34)
  3. Disable all extensions via config
  4. Upgrade ExpressionEngine from 2.11.9 > 3.5.17
  5. Manually replace all references to exp:zoo_visitor with exp:visitor in templates
  6. Delete old Zoo Visitor folders from /system/user/addons/ and /themes/user/ if present
  7. Manually change field_type from zoo_visitor to just visitor in database table exp_channel_data
  8. Add latest Visitor add-on files to EE3, then install Visitor via CP
  9. Manually remove zoo_visitor row from database table exp_fieldtypes
  10. Run migration tool from Visitor add-on page
  11. Run installation tool from Visitor add-on page
  12. You may now upgrade ExpressionEngine to the latest version
  13. Re-enable all extensions via config and continue updating other add-ons
