Missing Page Tracker

The Missing Page Tracker helps you identify 404 errors on your site. By tracking broken links, you can create redirects to point users to the correct content.

Detour Pro Missing Page Tracker

Setup

To enable the Missing Page Tracker, add the following tag to your 404 template:

{exp:detour_pro:not_found}

Anytime a user visits a page that triggers a 404 error, Detour Pro will log the URL and the hit.

Dashboard

The Missing Page Tracker dashboard shows you a visual overview of your 404 traffic:

  • Top 10 Needed Redirects: Shows the URLs with the most 404 hits that do not have a redirect yet.
  • 404s by Day: A line chart showing the trend of 404 hits over time.

Creating Redirects

Below the charts, you will see a list of missing pages sorted by hits.

  1. Identify the URLs you want to fix.
  2. Click the Add Detour link next to the URL.
  3. The URL will be pre-filled in the "Original URL" field on the "Add Detour" page.
  4. Enter the new destination URL and save.
